I am Professor of Constructive Theologies, in the Department of Classics, Ancient History, Religion and Theology.
My research focuses on Christian constructive theologies. Much of my work has been in contextual theologies, particularly those relating to sex, gender and sexuality. I also have interests in critical disability studies, homelessness, contextual Bible study, postcolonial and decolonial theologies, queer theologies, and theologies of art.

I joined the University of Exeter in 2013 and I am currently Senior Lecturer in Ancient Philosophy. My interdisciplinary research agenda builds bridges and establishes connections between the history of metaphysics and the revival of metaphysics in contemporary analytic philosophy. At the centre of this research agenda is Aristotle’s metaphysical thought and its reception in the Middle Ages and in modern times.

Jonathan Hill joined the Theology and Religion department as Lecturer in Philosophy of Religion in 2013. He was previously a researcher at the University of Oxford, after completing his PhD in Philosophy at the National University of Singapore.

As Professor of Classics and Late Antiquity, my research interests range across the Roman, late Roman and early medieval periods, although I specialise in the role of invective and abuse in all forms of politics and the formation of authoritative knowledge in late antiquity. This includes working on a number of early Christian writings that have traditionally been seen as part of Patristics.

Biography:
Originally from Sheffield, I did my BA, MPhil and PhD at Clare College, Cambridge. After I finally stopped being a student in 2007, I took up a Research Fellowship at Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge, and then a Temporary Lectureship at Sheffield, before coming to Exeter in 2012.

Esther D. Reed is Professor of Theological Ethics. Esther's research and teaching are broadly in theological ethics and moral philosophy, with particular focus on (un)just war reasoning and weapons control, prospects for jus in silico, and the future of military ethics.

I am a Professor of Hebrew Bible and Ancient Religion. She is an internationally renowned scholar and award-winning author, specializing in material religion, death studies, and the ancient religious cultures in which the Bible emerged. Actively engaged in public scholarship, her media work includes writing and presenting the BBC TV documentary series Bible's Buried Secrets, and narrating the serialization of her most recent book on BBC Radio 4's Book of the Week.

I am a classical scholar, literary critic and teacher with wide interests in ancient and modern literature. Since my arrival at Exeter in 1999 I have taught many different courses in Greek and Latin language and literature. I was also one of the academic team behind Exeter's Liberal Arts degree programme. For a year I taught at Vassar College, NY, an experience which opened my eyes to the intellectual and personal values associated with a liberal arts education.
