I joined the University of Exeter in 2013 and I am currently Senior Lecturer in Ancient Philosophy. My interdisciplinary research agenda builds bridges and establishes connections between the history of metaphysics and the revival of metaphysics in contemporary analytic philosophy. At the centre of this research agenda is Aristotle’s metaphysical thought and its reception in the Middle Ages and in modern times.

I am a Senior Lecturer in Classics and Ancient History. My main interests lie in Graeco-Roman medicine, especially of the Hellenistic and Roman periods. One important strand of my research looks at the ways in which medicine and philosophy interacted and influenced each other. I also have continuing interests in how Greek papyri from Ptolemaic and Roman Egypt can contribute to our understanding of ancient medicine.

Esther D. Reed is Professor of Theological Ethics. Esther's research and teaching are broadly in theological ethics and moral philosophy, with particular focus on (un)just war reasoning and weapons control, prospects for jus in silico, and the future of military ethics.
