Classics and Ancient History
Nena Yendell, the Pastoral Mentor for Classics, Ancient History, Religion and Theology, proactively engages with undergraduate and postgraduate students to enhance their university experience and success. By bridging gaps between university services, she prioritizes student wellbeing, fostering a sense of community and belonging. Nena promotes a culture of mutual support, respect, and compassion through individualized guidance. She collaborates with the Harrison Student Hub, Education Welfare Team, and Engineering Academics to develop action plans and academic support systems, aiming to improve student attendance and engagement, and to create an inclusive, supportive, and accessible academic community.I
Before joining the University she worked in banking for over 30 years and more recently was the Team Leader/Senior Administrator in the Business School supporting academics and students. She brings over 20 years of line management experience as well as work in the voluntary youth work sector to this role as well as risk and compliance expertise, problem solving, health and safety knowledge, human resources and pastoral care. .
