Dr Alice Van Den Bosch

I am an educator, historian, and writer of the ancient world specialising in gender, hagiography, and the social and cultural history of the ancient Mediterranean and beyond. Previously I have studied and worked in the UK and Denmark but for the past several years have been based in Devon. I was awarded my PhD from the University of Exeter in 2024 with a thesis entitled 'Creating the Female Martyr in Late Antique North Africa', as well as supporting interdisciplinary collaboration through my role as a network co-lead of Justice and Violence Studies@Exeter. I am currently a teacher of Latin and Classics at Exmouth Community College.
